OTTAWA, Nov. 23 (Xinhua) -- Femke Kok led a Dutch sweep of the top five places in the second women's 500m at the ISU Speed Skating World Cup in Calgary on Sunday, as the Netherlands added three more golds on the final day of competition.
The world record holder clocked 36.72 seconds to collect her sixth straight World Cup win in the distance, with Jutta Leerdam, Marrit Fledderus, Anna Boersma and Angel Daleman following her home.
As the only woman to skate under 37 seconds again, Kok felt she left time on the ice.
"Today was the worst day of all days [at the first two World Cups]. My opener was OK, but my lap was just not good," she said. "So much has happened since last week [after breaking the world record in Salt Lake City], I just felt a bit less snappy. I'm happy it's done, and I won, so I can't complain."
The Netherlands also won the women's team pursuit in 2:52.52 and took the mixed relay gold.
In the men's second 500m, American Jordan Stolz stopped the clock at 33.79 for his sixth World Cup gold of the season. Poland's Damian Zurek was 0.06 back for silver, with South Korea's Kim Jun-ho third in 33.99.
The United States added gold in the men's team pursuit, ahead of France and the Netherlands.
Canada's Ivanie Blondin took the women's mass start in 8:08.48, while Italy's Andrea Giovannini won the men's mass start in 7:42.51. ■
