MADRID, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Chinese basketball center Yu Jiahao continues to show he is adapting to life in Spain with an impressive display at the weekend.
The 22-year-old left the Zhejiang Golden Bulls and signed a contract with Bilbao Basket until 2028 in the summer, with the reigning FIBA Europe Cup winners loaning him to Alega Cantabria to help him gain experience of the European game.
In Sunday's 101-90 defeat away to HLA Alicante, Yu scored all of his 16 points from free throws, going 16-of-17 on the line.
Yu has played eight games for Alega Cantabria so far this season, averaging 5.6 points and 3.4 rebounds per game.
Bilbao Basket's plan for him is to get used to the Spanish competition this season, before returning to the club that plays in Spain's Liga ACB alongside teams such as Real Madrid, FC Barcelona and Unicaja Malaga. ■
