GABORONE, Aug. 12 (Xinhua) -- Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex visited privately Botswana early last week to catch up on the work of a rhino charity he supports, a senior member of the Rhino Conservation Botswana (RCB) said on Sunday.

RCB's Community Liaison Officer, Mary Hastag told Xinhua in a telephone interview that the Prince was in the southern African nation to meet senior staff and workers from the charity organization.

"Besides meeting staff and workers, the Prince attended the Annual General Meeting of Rhino Conservation Botswana as the patron of our United Kingdom associates," said Hastag, adding that the Prince jetted out of Botswana in the early hours of Sunday.

Prince Harry has taken a keen interest in Botswana's efforts to help safeguard the region's population of black and white rhino through the work of RCB.

In January this year, Prince Harry also privately visited Botswana when he carried out a fact-finding mission to learn about the charity's latest developments.?
