In Nanjing of China and Aarhus of Denmark, there stand two statues of one person. His name is Bernhard Sindberg.

In the winter of 1937, Sindberg came to work for the Jiangnan Cement Factory in Nanjing. During the Nanjing Massacre, Sindberg and his German colleague Karl Gunter jointly provided shelter for nearly 20,000 Chinese people in the Jiangnan Cement Factory.

His deeds have been jointly commemorated over 88 years in two cities 8,000 kilometers apart.
